Dan this is Zan… I knew you’d recognize my voice, though.

Missing you can’t hold me down in light of some recent understanding. It came to me as I held a private ceremony for you, geographically isolated as I am. I saw you ascending, dematerializing into pure light, lifted on the wings of angels. I saw that in your final moment you realized “oh! there’s still a little more I can release,” and you moved on to the next level. I glimpsed your smile in the moment of transition when you saw how this all would unfold; you saw how we’d overcome the grief and clinging and each of us would be re-inspired to carry your vision on. This was the most potent step you could take.

There is no death, just a changing of form. The physical world and the mental world (thoughts, ideas, dreams, creativity) are equally real. You have passed from one to the other, but instead of being diminished you have increased. You touched so many in your life, but so deeply in your death. In this moment you are more powerful than ever before, diffused around the world through all of our thoughts, our dreams, our prayers, our wishes, our inspiration. Shining back from the unknown, you can now travel faster than on a plane, speak to more people at once than on a microphone, share your spark with more people than in any fire spin. Flow artists everywhere are calling you into their practice, letting you dance a human body again. Members of our community are redirecting their lives in your honor, dedicated to giving more to the collective.

You are everywhere. You lived for the flow revolution. You stayed up late and woke up early making plans, being the vehicle for the cultural transformation. I see how with your choice to move onto another realm the revolution has been amplified. In 5 days we’ve come farther together than any 5 days previous. I will remember you as the great instigator, he who lit a fire under us to truly connect our community and to spread the magic of what flow arts can be.

You are a model for all of us. May we embody some of your qualities and move towards the ascension ourselves:
