“Larry Harvey gave a FANTASTIC speech Wednesday night at USC. So we’re walking out after the show and I overhear him say to his friend Kelly, “Someone gave me a really nice gift, want to see?”


Out of his pocket he pulls a Flow Temple button. The symbol of Burning Dan’s desire to spread flow arts to the world. Larry continued, “it’s from the fire spinner who died down here…”

I was blown away.
He just completed a talk including aspects of valuing community over commerce, and here he was, caring about a small pin certainly not because of the pins cost, but for what it meant to all of us, the Los Angeles community, and the people who knew Dan.

I don’t know if I teared up for Dan, or for just seeing the pure caring in his reaction, but I’m tearing up again now, writing this.”
